Unicorn 5th birthday party

Every year I am in charge of the "cake table" for granddaughter's birthday parties.

My granddaughter calls me Mimsy & Mimsy's cupcakes are always requested.

This year I took a chance and made my first fancy layer cake for the party. 

She wanted a purple cake so I made a 5 layer yummy one filled with buttercream & jam.

I really wanted the frosting to be super smooth with sharp edges but I think that will come with more practice. I was still really happy with it tho.

Best part was everyone telling me how delicious it was!

Mini "Mimsy cupcakes" with pretty buttercreams

 Unicorn cake topper I designed for her.

I punched out pastel circles from card stock & sewed them together adding an occasional flower. 

An easy project that made her party so sweet.

Happy 5th birthday to my sweet girl!!
